Summary: Reader has been kept in the dark about the location of their next mission. When they can’t stand the unknown anymore they begin to probe Luke and Han for answers, only to find the location of their next mission is work than they could have ever imagined.

“I don’t understand why the location of our mission has to be kept secret from Luke and I we’re on the mission.” You complained from one of the passenger’s seats in the Millennium Falcon.

You’d been cruising through space for nearly a standard week. All Leia had told you when you’d been briefed was that you and Luke were being dispatched on behalf of the New Republic to negotiate peace with someone who’d recently risen to power. You knew that he was a former bounty hunter who now sat on the shoulders and throne of a former crime boss, but his name and planet had been redacted. As far as you were aware, only Han and Chewbacca had been given the name and location of the planet as they were assigned to transport you and Luke on your mission.

“Oh, the location’s not a secret to me.” Luke piped up from the seat beside you. He said it in his unnervingly calm jedi way. The way that always made him seem five steps ahead of everyone else.

“Leia told me the location had to be kept secret for security reasons!” You remarked. “So I’m the only onewho hasn’t been told?”

“Fear not, [Y/N] I have also not been provided the location of the planet we are to travel too.” Cee Threepio added in his metallic panicked tone. You ignored the droid. If you weren’t concerned you may need the protocol droid to translate, you would have disassembled him by now.

“You’re the security threat, Sweetheart.” Han barked not looking away from the viewport before him.

“Me? I’ve never…” You started to argue.

“Leia had some…concerns.” Luke interjected choosing his words carefully. “That you might not be receptive to the idea of returning to this particular planet.”

“Oh. So it’s a planet we’ve been to before?” You probed for more clues.

“You might as well tell her, Kid.” Han chimed in again. “It’s about to be visible on the viewport any second.”

“Well, go on then!” You demanded from the Jedi, but before Luke could utter the first syllable a planet you recognized began to manifest on the viewport before you. “No!!” You exclaimed taking in the two suns orbiting the planet. “Why here! Why me!” You began muttering swears and curses from every language you knew.

You always considered yourself a seasoned traveler. You’d been from one end of the galaxy to the other and back again. Most of the time the destination suited you just fine. From the lush green forests of Kashyyyk or Endor’s moons to the beautiful waters of Naboo. Alderaan had been a particular favorite of yours, before its unprecedented removal. You even liked the snow planets like Hoth. If you had to select a terrain that you hated, and you absolute did hate them, it would have to be the sand planets.

No one ever felt renewed and refreshed after visiting a sand planet. They were almost entirely desert based. Most of them were impossibly hot hellscapes which were not in any way improved by the presence of their citizens. The worst of these sand planets was Tatooine. Not being content with just one sun to burn its sandy surface, Tatooine boasted two.

“I’m not going down there.” You protested. “You can’t make me.” Chewbacca unleashed a gurgle in Shryiiwook assuring that he could make you if he needed to.

“Easy Chewy,” Han attempted to sooth his friend. “I told the Princess this was going to happen.”

“And I assured both Leia andHan that you understood how important your position as a negotiator for the New Republic is.” Luke stepped in, attempting to sooth you. “I know you won’t jeopardize the mission because of your hesitations.”

“Get Leia on the coms!” You ordered the Millennium Falcon’s pilots. “You’re going to have to get someone else, because I’m not going.”

“[Y/N], be reasonable.” Luke advised, calm as ever. Your outburst was almost amusing to him.

“I’m not being reasonable?” You laughed.  “There’s at least a hundred planets and moons in the known galaxy, but where to we always seem to end up? Tatooine! It’s a nightmare inducing, crime riddled outer rim planet that for some reason always seems to be at the center of all our problems! Are there even other planets, or have I just been traveling to various parts of Tatooine unbeknownst to me?”

“The other planets are very real.” Han insisted. “I’ll show you the Star Charts.”

“Yougot the full briefing,” You rounded on Luke. “Who’s this new leader on Tatooine that’s so important it requires negotiations and a jedi delegate?”

“Boba Fett.” Luke answered. “He’s recently taken over Jabba’s territory on Mos Espa.”

“Ah, well you should have just led with that.” You turned away from Luke and watched Tatooine grow larger in the viewpoint.

“That’s all it took?” Han asked after exchanging a confused look with his Wookie companion.

“Boba’s an old friend.” You shrugged. “And he owes me a favor. This’ll be easier than walking a Bantha.”
